MathCOUNTS is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory.  The National Society of Professional Engineers, the parent society of LES, is a Founding Sponsor for this program.

The State Competition is held in Pineville, LA each year although due to Covid 19 the 2021 event will be held online.  Any schools interested in competing in MathCounts can contact Chad Bacas or visit website for more details.
2021 Chapter Competition
Due to Covid 19, the Baton Rouge Regional MATHCOUNTS will be an online event from Friday, February 5 at Noon CST through February 6 at Noon CST. Between 1 and 15 individuals from each school will be able to participate in the 2021 Chapter Competition. 

2021 Chapter Invitational Competition
MATHCOUNTS Chapter Invitational Competition is scheduled to take place online Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 6:00pm CST. The top scoring student from each school and the top 20% of individuals from each chapter advance to this Invitational.

2021 State Competition
MATHCOUNTS State Competition will be taking place online and is scheduled for Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 6:00pm CST. The competition will include top students from the Chapter Invitational (State level advancement details will be announced prior to the Chapter Invitational).

2021 National Competition
The top individuals from each state receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the MATHCOUNTS National Competition which takes place May 8-11 in Washington, DC. As of August 2020, this is planned as an in-person event, but subject to change, if necessary.
