The Honors and Awards Committee is composed of nineteen members. The Chairman of the Committee is the Past President of the Society once removed, and the Vice Chairman is the immediate Past President of the Society. Together with the two Past Presidents of the Society, the eight Chapter Presidents and the eight immediate Chapter Past Presidents form the Committee.
In the event that either a Chapter President or immediate Past President is unable to attend, vacancies may be filled by one or two of the Chapter’s Past President(s). No absentee ballots or proxies shall be allowed. All participating members of the Honors and Awards Committee are ineligible for nomination during their tenure or service on the Honors and Awards Committee,except nominees for the F. Hugh Coughlin Young Engineer Award. Any member or participant who has been nominated forthe Coughlin Award shall be excused prior to discussion, debate, and voting on the particular award.
**Both EI’s and PE’s are eligible for the Young Engineer Award, as long as their ages comply with the guidelines.
